Richard Davies

Historic Building Consultant (Associate)
Richard has been involved with the care and development of the built environment throughout his 30 year architectural career, both in private practice and as Principal Conservation Architect and Regional Director in English Heritage. He has extensive experience in the refurbishment and redevelopment of culturally sensitive sites and buildings to meet today’s and future requirements upgrading to current working, living and environmental standards.
Richard is an associate of ACP since 2001 and has worked on conservation projects such as Paddington Station in London and on projects in South Africa and China.
He is currently Director of COTAC, UK representative on Council of Europe committees on Heritage and Crafts, and Training Reform and of the D.E.T.R. Building Regulations Advisory Committee. He is a member of ICOMOS (UK), the Ecclesiastical Architects and Surveyors Association, the advisory committee for the ICCROM international course on Urban Conservation Management in Rome.
